Summer Fun Day Dog Show
Vets 4 Pets will be running the dog show at our Summer Fun day this year.
Registration starts at the Vets4Pets stand at 11am and the show starts at 12:30 in the Formal Gardens.
The categories are:-
Waggiest Tail
Best Trick
Musical Sit (like Musical Chairs)
Golden Oldie (over 8 years old)
Most Handsome Dog
Best Rescue
Best Sausage Catcher
Entry is £2 per catagory
The dog show may be cancelled if the weather is unsuitable for our four-legged friends.
Bands announced for Summer fun day
So a few of you have been asking about the band line up. With the return of The Willow Fest and people escaping the weather to go on holidays, we really appreciate these guys turning out for us…. so here goes:
12:15pm – The Main Event. Ollie and Lou have been around for a year and are already making a big name for themselves.
1pm – The Motivators (well most of them 
). The boys had to pull out at the last moment in 2022 due to illness so we’re happy to see them back for 2023.
2pm – Upon This Rock. These young lads absolutely smashed it last year and we have some incredible feedback so we had to invite them again.
3pm – The 707. Dan and the boys are no strangers to the summer fun day.
4pm – The Blag Street Boys. No it’s not a backstreet boys tribute band! They’ll play all the songs you love to hear but they hate to play.
5pm – Another Girl Another Planet. Bit of punk, bit of ska and a bit of new wave all delivered by Natalie and the boys.
6pm – Glam Slam Glitz. Sounds of the 70s from The Sweet, T-Rex, Bowie and many more.
All these bands play for free on the day (a combination of goodwill, pulling in favours and mates helping out mates). And we thank them all immensely for doing so.
So please go along and support them in your local pub and buy their stuff wherever you can.
All stage times (and bands) can be subject to change on the day at absolutely no notice whatsoever.
The Summer Fun Day receives funding from the National Lottery Community Fund
As we are sure you are all fully aware, costs have increased significantly over the past couple of years and this has also had an impact on our fundraising capabilities. This seriously put at risk our ability to continue to run the Fun Day as a free-to-enter community event.
However, we are very excited to let you know that this years Summer Fun Day will be held with the support of a National Lottery Community Fund award will enable The Friends of Itter Park to continue to run the event as a free community event for 2023.
We are also delighted to have had fantastic support from local businesses with some incredible raffle prize donations including:
· 8 prizes of £80 gift vouchers for Angle Gaming Lounge. Each voucher will give a group of 4 either 1 hour of Axe throwing or 1 hr of time in an escape room.
· £50 of vouchers for at Wired Records 533 Lincoln Road
· A 2 course Meal for 2 at Paul Pry Table Table Lincoln Road.
As well as a whole host of other amazing prizes. So don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets on the day!
And as for the age old question of what bands are playing on the day………..well watch this space!
